Prelude: In the 2005/2006 academic year, the curriculums for Architecture Studios 301 and 302 have been combined into a one-year project. Under
the theme 'Inhabiting > Mobility' , Semester 1 was spent introducing
students to a set of architectural methodologies and characteristics that
lead to the production of architecture. T
hese methodologies and characteristics were delivered to prepare the students for the demands of Semester 2's semester long project.

speak to students regarding the
Density Project

In Semester 1, students rethought the conventional architectural notions of condition, program, and site.   Based on an environmental occurrence [condition], they researched high and low density, and defined a hybrid state of density. In 'Nomad', they rethought the notion of [program] derived through the mundane interaction of two people. The students responded to this exchange by the enhancement or determent of it. 'Systems' analysed [site] in terms of its sequential, cause and effect elements. The conclusion of this semester culminated in the project 'Terminal' which employed the student's definitions and understandings of density, nomad, and systems as they manifest themselves in architecture.
