Vertical access

This space of vertical access lies inside prizor hill and cuts down 140 feet to the base of the mountain. Along its processional path are unprogrammed spaces and pockets which result from the eroded outer circulation paths, embedded in this spaces are the layers of strata, so as the user rises in elevation he notices the layering of time and its significance. Rising thru the center of the desing is the access spine which is severly perforated as to let light, air and the elements to breath into the space. The final ascent leads the procession straight thru the access spine to view the 90 foot drop thru a grate below, and the desert sky above, a space meant to produce feelings similiar to the apprehension of spaceflight.
